The rules of Buy-a-Set: Each player starts with 20 :fflorin: All players ante 2 :fflorin:
Each player is dealt 2 cards for their hand. Three cards are dealt on the table. These are the community cards, while they remain on the table any player can use them to form a set on their turn.

Here is how we play:

1. Player examines their hand (including both cards they were dealt and all cards they buy from the table) and the community cards and attempts to make a set out of them. Their set must use at least one card from their hand. If they have a set their move is to post "Set: " followed by the three cards that make up the set. If they have a set they win the pot and this round ends, if they do not they chip in 2 :fflorin: and play continues.

2. If the player does not think that they have a set they may buy a card from the table. To post this move simply post "Buy: " followed by the community card that you wish to buy. That card then becomes part of your hand and you chip a :fflorin: into the pot. The community cards are replenished with a new card.

3. If a player does not have a set, but does not wish to buy a card they may post "pass"

4. If a player runs out of :fflorin: they can stay in the hand in which they run out. Though, they may not buy cards and they can only buy in the next round if they win the pot.

5. After every trip through the players an additional card is added to the community cards.

Ok there are goint to be some rule chages. I have been confering in private and I think I can make this a better game.

We don't redeal after every set, but we re-ante and continue to play with the cards we have. The pot winner gets any secret cards he used replaced but not any bought cards.

When buying a card you have the option of buying from the community cards or buying from the deck. If you buy from the deck your purchased card will be secret. If you buy from the table people will know what you get, and that card will be replaced.

I think that covers it.

Are we allowed to pass even if we can make a set using our secret cards and the community cards?

Same question if we already hold a set in our hand?

How about buying extra cards, even if we can already make a set?

I don't know if anyone would ever want to do that, but maybe they would in order to let the pot grow bigger before claiming it.

I'm not looking through all your cards for sets, that's your job! In other words, there are no rules against these things.

Ohh, I get it now, haha, I'll buy the three red diamond one.

just a clarification...do I have to buy a community card or are they for everyone to use? If I buy a card do I have to wait for everyone to go again before I can call set?

Community cards are for everyones use in making sets. If you dont have a set, you can either pass, buy a community card, or buy a card from the deck. The card Nightson bought will be replaced, so you should wait for Crumb to show the new card. If you buy a card, you have to wait until your next turn before making a set, but if you have a set using the community cards and the cards in your hand you can call it right now and take the pot.

I'm sorry guys. WIth my current situation at work and in real life I am not going to be able to run this game. If someone wants to pick it up and run with it or change it up or whatever that is fine, but I am not going to be able to run it.

:sorry:
