...and by "Georgia", I mean "Atlanta."
And by "Atlanta", I mean "Probably a pretty small part of Atlanta"...
And by "Probably a pretty small part of Atlanta", I mean "Mostly areas around the Joint AMS/MAA meetings. (http://www.ams.org/amsmtgs/2091_intro.html)"
And by "March Through", I mean "Probably just hang around, eat, hob-knob, and go listen to mathematical talks, possibly with a sampling of the Atlanta night life."
However, I'll probably have at least some time free...do any of you know of any good restaraunts/sights/things to do in Atlanta?
Of course, there are some fellow Math Nerds that I'll be seeing as well, but I'll probably have some time to myself, since I'll be there for 5 days.

Is there a particular reason for your visit, Goliath? Are you going there for a conference?

Goliath,
You lucky, lucky man. Far away from home. City night life. One word.

Actually, the best place we ate in Atlanta (I have only been once, but FWIW) was The Abbey. It is in a converted church and they serve a selection of Monastic wines and it was just wonderful.

Yep, I'm going there for the Joint AMS/MAA conference (usually referred to amongst mathematicians as "The Big Meeting"...it's a..well...big conference that changes location within the US every year. This year, it's in Atlanta).

LOL...if only I were an actual party animal...

Hmmm, interesting. I'll keep that in mind, Shea. Thanks. :)

I find myself in Atlanta several times a year (trust me, when you travel as much as I do, finding yourself someplace is exactly what it's like when you wake up in the morning). My favorite place to eat in Atlanta is also my favorite place to eat in Dallas: Fogo de Chão. It's a Churrascaria, or Brazilian Barbeque in popular parlance. The experience is just not worth describing in a post -- you must try it. Be prepared for a heafty bill (~$50 per person). Drinking lots of Caipirinhas will help.

The Abbey is on the expensive side as well. For the other end of the price spectrum, I highly recommend a place in Ponce de Leon Ave (not too far from the conference, and easy to find from there as well) is called Eats. The food is great, and cheap.
For night life, there isn't a whole lot very close to the conference, other than the Hard Rock Cafe and Underground Atlanta. I'd check out what is known as the Virginia Highland area. There a strip there on Highland Ave (which, incidently is only a mile or two from Eat's) that has several good bars and clubs in a two block area. My favorite night club in all of Atlanta is there, Blind Willies. If you like Blues, it's a must go. But get there early, it's very small and very popular. Live Blues every night though :)
Another popular (and a bit more bohemian) area for restaurants and night life that isn't too far from the conference is Little Five Points. The Euclid Avenue Yacht Club is a cozy little bar that can be fun for darts and draught beer. There also a couple of night clubs with more alternative music in that area. All within walking distance of each other. Oh, there's a great Carribean style restaurant there whose name escapes me at the moment. But the Conch Fritters are not to be missed, if you are in the area.
As far as sights, there isn't much. Atlanta isn't really a tourist type town. I mean, who really wants to go to the Coca Cola museum?
