View Full Version : Gave myself a fright

So, the last few days I've had numbness in my left arm and tingling fingertips, coupled with some chest pain.

It's freaked me out a bit, and was becoming more frequent. At the supermarket, I again got some upper chest pains on my left side and that aching numbness in my left arm, so I thought "fuck this" and went to a weekend medical and emergency centre to get it checked out.

I AM SO RELIEVED!

Apparently, my heart and lungs are in good nick, but I seem to have a pinched nerve in my neck and shoulders causing the numbness and pain.

All I need is a chiropractor or physio.

Whew!

So, sorry, folks - I'll be around a little while longer, yet. :yup:

I'm glad to hear you'll live, luna. :)

I had those same symptoms for a long time when I first moved here to Dallas, but they eventually went away. I would've gone to the ER myself but I'm poor and I have an anxiety disorder, which means no doctor and it's probably nothing, respectively.

I'm so glad you took the time to get it checked out! I want you around for that good long time. I hope you can unpinch that nerve ASAP!

:thankyou:

Thank you, guys!

That feeling in my arm and chest is so strange that I really thought I had a blocked artery and a heart attack was imminent.

The relief I felt talking to the doctor and being examined and having him say my heart is strong but my neck is tight - have I suffered whiplash or anything recently, blah blah - was so good that I'm celebrating with a beer while making some nice smelling soap with Zoe.

vm, I'd be too freaked out to ignore it for too long. Pleased yours was not a heart attack, either, though! Next time see a doctor.

I get the tingling and numbness in my arms quit often, Luna. With me, I get intense pain in my neck and shoulders, rather than my chest. I have bone spurs in somem of the vertabrae, and occasionally if I move wrong they will pinch the nerves that go from the spinal column into the arms. It's not pleasant.

That said, I'm glad that's all you had; heart problems would have been a lot more serious.
