Somebody registered here using a bogus email address, and thus never received the notification to activate his account. Naturally he assumed a preemptive banning was at work, so filled out our contact form (using a bogus email address again) to let us know what he thinks of fascists like us. If I had any way of contacting him, I'd tell him how to activate his account. Since I don't, we might as well have fun with the email.

You call this site freethought,

What a joke. Banning my email address before every registering......that's hypocritical, and god loves hypocrites.

I wonder how many of you even read books on this site. Probally just read each others posting and think your smart. A famous philosopher once said; "Of all god's creation man is the one least fitted to be hearded together like cattle." I see this crap all the time. Get any group of people together and the quickly become degraded and immoral. It only takes a few years. Thats whats wrong with you. But thats not all.

Now me, only people I listen to are the people that are willing to take the time to write a book. And I read tons of books; Gladwell,Sagan and even older philosopher like Rousseau, Paine, Kant, Locke just to name a few. I bet you havent even read a book this year. Only 25% of the people in the USA does. And based on your actions banning me, I bet your part of the 75%.

Who do you read. Don't answer I know who you read. The brain dead idiots online. Because you believe their far more smarter than writers.

So how does it feel to live in your own little world. With a handfull of friends the influence your actions and every single thought running through the dead brain of yours? I wonder what you think when your all alone...Well, your probally never alone. You need them, but they dont need you.

My advice to, stop listening to others, and start thinking for yourself.
If you can

Normally, I ignore people like this. However, when you bash someone's intelligence, and in the process make yourself look foolish by showing your complete lack of intelligence, something needs to be said. The bold is mine.
Also, I am no great shakes with grammar. Please, please, please, someone who knows grammar, fix this thing!!!

That's just it, Ensign. I have a tendency to both overuse it and misuse it.

It's just that most of my commentaries in real life consist of "dangling conversations", where the ultimate point of the comment is often lost (usually due to an excessive overreliance upon parenthetical clauses). I try to make my writing conform (to a certain extent) to my conversational mode. That includes a lot of longish pauses as I do a mental search for the right term (and usually fail). That's why all the...

Oh my god, I totally do that, too! I used to get marked down in composition class for run-on sentences, and I always bitched because they were punctuated correctly and were actually technically correct, and I didn't understand that they were still very, very wrong, stylistically. Case in point. :giggle:

Yeah, yeah, yeah...

All the way through university, I had professors who would commend my writing as a "truly expressive and interesting" writing style (I generally got top grades on my written research), which was marred only (as one prof put it) by my "love affair with the comma". I have perpetually been advised to chop my writing up into smaller, bite-sized, bits with full stops (periods).

My answer was to use more semi-colons.

I keep complaining that I'm a "parenthetical thinker"....I don't think in nice easy linear thought patterns. It doesn't seem to impress. Academically, at least.

Ah, well.

Ensign Steve
10-19-2006, 02:44 AM
You know, I never noticed until this thread your use of the ellipsis. I guess when it is used as a natural, conversational pause it's a fuck of a lot less noticable as when it's used as the default punctuation mark. Good show, n'glad.

fragment

I started out with just a bit of experimentation with punctuation: a semi-colon here, an exclamation mark there; I thought I had it under control - but it started to escalate when I found the dash (around the same time I began to dabble in parantheses), from which the progression to the ellipsis was easy... and inevitable...

Now - my prose is completely out of control! ~ I'm looking; to find my way back... I don't think I can `carry on` like this...
