We need one! It should either be a penny that follows a nice smilie around, or be a tarnished penny which morphs into a little troll.

So I trotted over to dA yesterday after reading this request, as I do after every request, and PMd an emoticonist who's been on a huge roll of cuteness lately, LeoLeonardo. After we got over the cultural barrier (he's not American, so there was some question about which penny exactly I was talking about and what the expression itself might mean), he turned on a dime, if you'll pardon the phrase, and produced this little marvel:
:badpenny:
Can you even stand the adorability? I mean, there's a smiley watercooler. :squee:

Oooh, that is one baaaaad penny.
That is a great addition to the hoard! It represents the "bad penny" concept so creatively. Here are a couple of friends talking and chatting by the water cooler. All of a sudden, the bad penny turns up. This is enough to derail the conversation, but only momentarily. Eventually the bad penny slinks away....but, will likely return once more.
Bravo to LeoLeonardo, a wonderful artist and welcome friend of the hoard!

Exactly, wei. If smiley exegesis were a paying job, you'd be one rich motherfucker.
