I don't know if anyone has ever read anything on serial killers, but they go in cycles. Spread out their attacks, then closer and closer, until a culminating grand finale, followed by a dormant period. Then they start the cycle all over again.

My guess is we won't hear from Carl for a while after this next one. He/she said 'the cycle is almost complete', then hit two people in one night. The frenzy before the end.

It would seem no one could figure out the pattern, didn't care enough to try, or I didn't generate enough interest in this idea. Probably the latter, I'd say. I should have made it more interesting.

Still in all, I think this is good idea, and could be a lot of fun, given the right creative mind. I'd hate to let this die out without having someone else give it a try.

So here is what I propose:


PM Carl Spackler if you are interested in taking over for the next round of serial...whatevers. That will be up to you. All I ask is that it's something nonviolent, like poking someone with a rubber chicken or something. It's all in fun, remember. That's why I chose pies.

If more than one person wants to do it, I'll just choose one at random, and PM them with Carl Spackler's password, and then I will log out. The next person will log in, and change the password, and assume the identity of Carl Spackler. Avatar, character traits, everything, will be completely up to the new serial...whatever.

The handoff will be done in complete secrecy, to keep Carl's true identity anonymous. Once I log out, I can't log back in.

After the handoff is complete, I will reveal my true identity.

So, anyone interested?

Hmm. Interesting idea. I think the reason it didn't quite work was that you implied that one could not only discover the pattern, but also use the pattern to determine who would be next. It doesn't look like anyone could have -- only the final digit was part of a pattern, while the rest appears to be random. I don't know if it could be done with a new pattern that would be difficult to figure out, now that the numbers have been used. Then again, there's those damned weffriddles, which had a great variety of posers involving numbers & letters. Maybe ... :chin:
