View Full Version : I can't log onto II :(

So ever since I got home from break, I can't log on. Might it be something to do with my ISP? I need help!

You can see the forum index but you can't log on? If so, it could be a cookie setting thing. What browser, OS are you using?

I meant I can't see it at all. Sorry for making no sense. Every other website on the internet works, including forums (obviously). But II just gets "time out error."

I'm using Firefox and WinXP.. and everything was working until yesterday, which is when I got home.

Freaky. Okay. Can you get to the Secular Web (http://www.infidels.org/index.shtml) at all? I assume you're on a laptop. Are school and home relatively close? Have you tried deleting all your II cookies? Have you tried releasing and renewing your IP?

I deleted cookies, but it didn't help. I did manage to get onto secular web, but I still can't get into the forums.

School to home is Illinois to Boston, so it is a bit of a move.

There's a thread in Bugs & Tech Issues, xorbie, which suggests you open the following file in notepad: C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\host and, to delete the following line if you have it: 205.179.100.186 www.iidb.org.
