View Full Version : I've just been sick

and it's not a lifestyle choice. But the subheading for this forum mentions 'health', so here it is.

Migraines. Who'd have 'em? I haven't had one this bad for years, and I've had two in quick succession in the past couple of weeks. (With minor, non-puking ones in between).

Each time I break my record. Previously, it was three or four. I kid you not, I've just barfed six times in a row and I didn't even realise I had anything in my stomach.

I stink of vomit and I feel like I've burned the enamel off my teeth. Plus, it's like I've still got lumps of half-digested food in my throat.

On the upside, the adrenaline seems to have got rid of much of the headache, although my right eye (I always get the pains on the same side of my head) aches a bit.

Ick. I feel like I've got stomach acid oozing out of every pore.

Poor me. :vomit: :puke:

I hope you feel better soon, Veritas.
Shelli recently discovered a new medication that worked really well for her. Thread here. (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10206)

*squeaks* Thank you.

I feel like crying. You know that feeling when no-one else can do anything to make you feel better, but you're so sorry for yourself you just want a cuddle?

I don't smell too fragrant, though. :(

/me dons the breathing mask and goes in for the :cuddle:

I owe you bigtime anyway, because for the longest time yesterday, I misread verax-acis and thought you had gone bonkers with the prosletizing in Philosophy.

:)

Off back to bed now. Think the barf-cramps have died off but I'm taking a bucket just in case.

Oh for fuck's sake, I've just realised. I don't smell of puke - I can still smell it 'cause the damn vomit came out of my nose!

Better not pick my nose now...the acid could burn off my fingertips.

Oh, man, Veritas, that sucks. :cheerhug:

Like I said in the thread that pesci linked you to above, my doctor recently prescribed Imitrex and it works awesome for me. Within an hour of taking a pill, *poof* gone!

I think it's worth asking your doctor about, Veritas, and in the meantime, hunker down till it's gone.

Just surfaced, and wanted to thank you all for your good wishes. As I've said before, no one can do anything to make me feel better, but your messages made me smile, so that helps a little.

Plus, I've received a text message from a (male) friend offering me sex when I feel better. :)

I knew there had to be an upside to feeling that ill!

Yup, chicken soup. I kept it down, which is a good sign. I've never had a migraine that stopped me eating for two whole days before. A visit to the doc's is called for, I think.

"The doc" is this male friend?

Veritas
11-29-2006, 02:16 AM
Uh, no...the male friend is a womaniser who was using my illness as a way of getting into my pants. 'Comfort', huh?

When I say the doc I meant general practitioner...able to prescribe strong drugs for migraine pain and nausea!

Not Doctor Lurve...:suggest:

I'm in two minds with THAT one!!!

My wife suffers from pretty bad migraines...she has been prescribed Imitrex (http://www.healthsquare.com/newrx/imi1205.htm), which helps but has some nasty side effects...

Fortunately she hasn't had any since the summer--they are pretty incapacitating.

You want me to come over and play my congas for you? Chase off the bad spirits?

Veritas

Uh...yeah, okay. I could do with a laugh. :giggle:

Err...I meant laugh at the bad spirits as they run away, awed by your great skill in the art of Congaido.

The drug killed my migraine inside of an hour and the only side effect I noticed was weird mouth. :giggle:

I'd check for stomach acid splash-back in your eye.
