Smilie Polls

When I first joined the :ff: , MonCap used to host a monthly smilie poll which I greatly enjoyed. :=)

Is this something that others are interested in enough to bring it back? If so, I wonder if Crumb would be willing to host it if MonCap has stepped down. :listen:

I miss them, too. But, I was never very good at hosting them. I think Shelli would be great at it!

I need to get back to doing it. I am definitely sill interested in making them. I took the place of Crumb. The Mafia games got me sidetracked and I never got back to making them. I am willing to get back into the saddle if Crumbelina doesn't object.

MonCapitan or Shelli, as long as the polls are public and we can vote for as many smilies as we like, that's all for the good.

No convoluted way of voting. Just post the list and let us pick.

The "we" part is me speaking for everyone else who votes on the smiley polls whether they like it or not.

Oh, and kudos to whoever does this, because I know there's got to be a lot of work involved. I'm just a happy voter.

I think MonCap should hand over the reigns to Shelli for a while. No one should be smiley poll president for life - the job should be rotated around periodically.

Nobody owns the right to conduct smilie polls 'round here. I think anyone who wants to make a poll should have at it, and let the free market decide which ones succeed.

Well, yeah, it would be kinda silly to have two of the same poll, I totally agree. So, unless I wanted to compete, which I don't, that doesn't make any sense.

What we could do is this: MonCap could conduct the Smilie Polls as he has been and I could conduct my own version of Smilie Polls. I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of "themes". It could be any variety of themes which would make it fun I think. Per instance, "winter", "x-mas", "best love smilie", "best glomp", "best anger smilie", etc.

What do you all think of that? :eh?:
