What do you use and what do you think of it?
I used to be a Norton girl, but have switched to the freeware version of Avast! (http://www.avast.com/), and will never go back to Norton.
Avast! finds things Norton couldn't even be bothered looking for. It updates more regularly, too.
/me puts on cheesy advertisement smile...
And that's why I, and thousands like me, recommend Avast!
And it's FREE!
Since Feb I have been using whichever package the company I contract at insists on, which saved me having to think. I used Norton up to then and was less and less satisified (for commercial reasons - I didn't have a virus problem with it). If I had to choose now I'd give avast and avg a trial.
Trend Micro, current titleholder, seems surprisingly OK. I would try hard to steer clear of f-prot if it was ever forced on me again.

I did not renew Norton this October, and decided to give AVG a try. So far, so good.
Now, if I could only figure out where all the spam is coming from all of a sudden on one of my business accounts. :chin:

I've been using AVG. My home PC has been connected to the internet for at least 6 years and has never had a virus on it.

Swwwe-e-e-e-e-e-t. My Norton subscription is up soon too, and I was going to look for some good alternatives. Thanks luna!

That looks cool, luna. :)
I've been using a free program from a German company for many years. They update their definition files several times a week, but I often forget to do it for months at a time.
It can be found here: http://www.free-av.com

Yep, the freeware is as good as, and sometimes better than, the bought stuff. :yup:
Time to start a freeware thread (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=24588#post24588). :)
