anyone else playing/played FF III?

i'm playing final fantasy iii on my nintendo ds. i'm having trouble getting past the molten cave and i was wondering if anyone can give me any hints? i have looked at several walkthroughs on the internet so i know how to navigate around the lava; it's just that by the time i get to the boss i've healed so much from the lava damage that i don't have any cure or cura left and all my party members end up dead.

do i need to level up around the cave before i try going at that boss again? what level do you think i should be before i go at it?

Are you referring to the cave where that creature escapes to and turns into a dragon?

Any time you're unsure, level up, and possibly see whether there's some clever alternative, such as stocking up on potions or suchlike.

Clear things out, then come back once you know the minimal path. Stuff like that.

Are you referring to the cave where that creature escapes to and turns into a dragon?nope, the cave where the floors are lava. there are three screens you need to get through before you get to the boss and between the lava (where your HP goes down just by walking through it) and the stupid creatures you encounter (which really kills me because i end up using all my blizzard or thunder spells getting read of the fuckers before i get to the boss) i'm spent by the time i actually get to the end.
