Was it a punch or not?

Based entirely on prejudice and projection, I think that was some punk kid that probably tried something funny with Tigger. Maybe he tried to pull off the head or something in the picture. Maybe he said something about Tigger's mom.

Does this mean that Tigger was justified in punching the kid? Probably not, but how hard could that punch have been. You see the size of those mitts on Tigger? That's a lot of padding.

That last bit of whining from the kid's Dad about Tigger not "being a man" is just ridiculous.

The buffering delay is a pain in the ass from this PC, but I at least got as far as the video of the so-called incident. Looks like mere clowning from the short clip, to me. He didn't even knock off the kid's glasses, even though the paw-swipe goes right across them.

And really, who wouldn't want to smack a teenager now and again?

The Monaco family was posing with Tigger while Jerry filmed them with his video camera. Suddenly, Jerry's teenaged son, Jerry Jr., was "smack[ed] in the face" by Tigger, as "Early Show" anchor Hannah Storm characterized it. Jerry Sr. called the incident a "sucker punch." Jerry Jr., who later "woke up with neck pain," was eventually taken to the hospital for treatment. As of this morning, Jerry Jr. says, "most of the pain is gone 'cause I have medicine."


He put the kid in the hospital! And now the kid is gonna be addicted to pain killers.

This incident is shamefully out of character for Tigger. Everybody knows the real Tigger would never slap a child. If this dude knew anything about the character he was hired to represent he would have drop kicked the little shit to the floor and stomped him two foot style before feeding his bloody remains to his fat friend Pooh.

From what I saw on the news, the kid was pulling on the back of Tigger's mask, causing him to suffocate, so Tigger reacted. I saw the video, I think the punk kid deserved what he got.

Allow me to go off on a tangent for a moment if you will... (I'm not sure if I relayed this sotry here already)

This whole story reminds me: Don't fuck with Rondald McDonald either.

This happened while I was still in high school. My brothers and I would get to togther with some firends to rent a confernence room at a hotel and play some RPGs to ungodly hours of the night.

During a dinne break at one of these session we went accross the street to the local McDonalds to get some food. It was packed with kids as Ronald and firends were making an appearance. Inside was a young man in his mid 20's, drunk and obnoxious. The manger finally gets him and his friends to go outside, where Ronald happens to be at the time.

Mr. Drunk begins to harrass Ronald and in particular Grimace. Ronald tires to keep him calm and asks him to leave, drunk refuses and gets very hostile. Things escalate further, drunk calls Grimace a huge purple dick and gives him a shove (in front of the now crying kids). Ronald has had enough and while drunk is laughing at Grimace, Ronald removes his shoe and comes up behind the drunk.

Sensing the approach from behind the drunk turns, just in time to get a huge clown shoe to the side of the head. :whup: Drunk goes down like a, well drunk. Kids are bawling, drunks friends are laughing at him, drunk is stunned (WTF? Ronald McDonald just kicked my ass).

I don't know the final outcome after the cops arrived but to this day the whole incident is a laugh riot when we retell the story. Come on, how often do you get to see Ronald McDonald knock somebody silly with one of his clown shoes?

Moral of the story: Don't fuck with Ronald McDonald.

To me it looks like tigger was falling over, possibly from the kid and he tried to steady himself/fix the situation. Which included a paw to the face.
Why do I get the feeling the kid doesn't want to admit he was trying to screw with tigger and the parents see dollar signs?

And here I was hopping some cast member went crazy and just started beating the hell out of someone. I think I got hit harder giving piggy back rides to my friends 6 year old.

In Disneyland on t'other coast, all the most popular characters have at least one Disney Gestapo trooper to protect the character's perimeter and announce their frequent breaks. If the character has to disappear or otherwise get away from the adoring throngs, the kid in the uniform takes the focus of any ire. Goofy's minder was a downright assmunch when I was there last year.

That slap doesn't even look like it would have hurt even if Tigger didn't have the gloves on. With them on, there's no way that kid has any real injury.

Kid was probably fucking with him, as said, and that father is a bad actor. It's been a nightmare! No, it's obviously been a dream cuz he's hoping to squeeze this for all it's worth (which, if things go right, won't be much).

I don't know, I don't see any evidence that the kid was doing anything wrong before Tigger sucker punched him. Maybe he was though, who knows. I do suspect the father is trying to manipulate the situation to get rich from it, though. In the interview the kid's whiplash complaint didn't seem very convincing. Pretty funny video, anyway.

Shoot, I think that the bumper car rides would have caused greater whiplash. I'm always hurting for days after riding those suckers. But then my kids like to go on them about ten to fifteen times in a row if the crowds allow. They also make it a point to ram the stew outta me.
