I've opened the 'Room for skeptics.' It's in 'meet new friends' in Paltalk. Join us for chat if you like.

I so enjoyed PalTalk last time we had a room in there.
I'll have to get a new mic, though. Hopefully in another week, or so. Earlier if $'m lucky. :D

No one's there at the moment. :(
You go to www.paltalk.com and sign up. It's free. You have to be running Windows, unless you are a Linux guru.
There is some pretty agressive advertising associated with Paltalk now, so be careful what you click on after it starts up, and also when it exits. If you're used to stopping pop ups etc., then you'll have no problems. It's not as bad as I may have made it sound - don't let me put you off.
Once you have the software installed and running, you tick the box that shows adult rooms. Then go to groups. You can arrange the groups in alphabetical order to make them easier to search. Look in the 'meet new friends' group - again you can sort the rooms into alphabetical order. My room is called 'Room for Skeptics' and if it's open you can see it and join.
I'll give the room key to anyone reasonable who wants it, so you can meet up there when I'm not around.
The room is already used a fair bit by some of my friends at other forums.
We chat (either by typing or with a mic), play music, and generally hang out.
But like I say, right now, no one else is there :(
Gosh. I would have to do that on a day my kids are at school or at Nanna's cuz if I did that now, you would hear this disgusting game blaring, the kids running in and out of the out tattling on one another. Occassionally one of them saying asomething off to me and me having to scold.... *sigh*

Did you remember to click on the 'show adult groups'?

xorbie made it for a while, but unfortunately, there weren't any of you other guys there, and my other friends were talking about carrying guns :( and I don't know if it was that, or we were just boring, and it drove xorbie away.
Better luck next time. Maybe we should set a time for a Paltalk session for FF members? Who's up for it and what day and time would be best?

Why would anyone want to go to a chatroom that filters out all the intelligent people?

I wasn't scared off, I just had to go eat. I was only in to make sure I could get in. Fear not ;)

Why would anyone want to go to a chatroom that filters out all the intelligent people?Well, Stealth Banana comes into the room, and he runs only Linux, but he knows it inside out - tweaking source code and recompiling the kernal and all that stuff. Rebecca has been in a few times on a Mac, running some kind of Windows emulator.
So, if you're really smart, you can get in. It's only semi-smart people who are filtered out. :)
From what I understand, you need to install patches to your linnux system to be able to talk. But I think these patches can also compromise your firewall.
I am a dumb windows user. I have two little kids and think it is easier to use windows versus geeky Linux. I would like to install Linux at a later date and really get to understand it. Pre-Windows, I ran MS-Dos systems quite well and was a wiz at it. I think Linux might be rather fun.

Knoppix is a good way to try out Linux, without affecting your Windows installation at all. I'll post a link in the 'cool freeware' thread in the computing forum.
