I just pre-booked a place at the Open University to do a Philosophy MA course.

Now, the registration process is different to normal. Normally one registers for the course, selecting if appropriate which modules one wishes to study.

Here, however, there was no option to register for the full course. Instead there are three compulsory modules (one for each year). I have an option to register for one of these modules and link it to the Philosophy MA qualification.

So, I'm not entirely sure what's going to happen when I register. I'm also a little concerned that, unlike other universities, the OU doesn't require a submission essay. Has anyone else studied at the OU and if so can any of those people tell me if it is a good idea to study with them?

My previous qualification is a Philosophy BA (Hons) 2:2 from Leeds University
