Begins tonight.

I found the hanukkiah and selected my favorite, the modern wooden one.

I'm still scrounging for the remnants of the many partial packets of candles purchased and only partially used. They're in a box around here somewhere.

My atheist Jewish wife loved the ritual form of the lighting of the candles. She sang the prayer. Last year I was oblivious with grief, it all passed in a blur. This year she is obviously gone. It is now a sad time of year for me...

I wish you all a Happy Chanukkah. Light a candle for hope.

L'chaim.

My Jewish agnostic wife also appreciates and celebrates the ritual. You will be in my thoughts as we light the candles.

I bet it was lovely to hear her chant the prayer as she lit the candles. Happy Chanukkah, godfry. :menorah:

Happy Chanukkah, Godfrey. I am glad that you will be able to light the Menorah tonight. I hope it brings back wonderful memories, but I understand the sadness.

Happy Chanukkah, godfry.

My mother gave us a menorah some years ago and we light candles every year at this time. We don't do presents since we're about to do those at Christmas.
