I was listening to Fashion Nugget (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000003CKH/qid=1102617794/sr=2-2/ref=pd_ka_b_2_2/102-8611658-6521763) this morning and you know what? I really dig Cake. Yup. Sure do. Frank Sinatra is a great song; Friend Is A Four Letter Word is an outstanding song, and that cover of I Will Survive just plain kicks ass. I think it's the horns replacing the cheesed out syntho-string twirly bits after the refrains that I love so. Oh, and also the fact that he changes it to "I should have changed that fucking lock" instead of Gaynor's original "stupid lock".

I've heard people bitch about the dude's talk/sing style, but I like it. I like it the whole package, really. So sue me.

I've always liked Never There, from their Prolonging the Magic album. In fact I'm pretty sure I was just humming in a couple days ago.

I love 'em. Saw them live once, too, but it was too crowded to be fun for me. I am one of the few Minneapolitans who has not been brainwashed into believing that First Avenue (http://www.first-avenue.com/) is an exemplary concert venue.

I have all their albums but their latest, and that one's on my xmas wish list.
