This is a whole new level of stupid. Even for a US republican politician.

There goes pretty much all good literature and culture from Alabama. Oh, and the lesbian pr0n too. (http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/features/story/0,11710,1369643,00.html?gusrc=rss)

You can see that on the face of Cornelius Carter, a professor of dance at Alabama and a prize-winning choreographer who, not long ago, was named university teacher of the year for the entire US. Carter is black. He is also gay, and tired of fighting these battles. "I don't know," he says, "if I belong here any more."

That's precisely how I feel. I don't know if I belong here anymore.

I don't hate this country, just many of the idiots in it.

Yeah, but those idiots are in power, and they'll do or say anything to stay in power.

And other idiots voted for them. That's what's really depressing. "Lied us into a war? Cut taxes for the super-rich while cutting funding for my kids' school? Responded to an attack on our soil by attacking the wrong country? Four more years!"

The people who stand and fight for the civil rights for all Americans are making the future of this nation look more bright. People fought hard for Suffrage and then for the guaranteed right of the Black vote and stood firm in the Civil Rights movement. People suffered and faced persecution to improve and secure the rights of those oppressed. We must continue so that gays are afforded the basic civil rights that straight Americans have.

I don't hate this country. I am just weary about the setback we faced I hate the NeoCon movement that is trying to bring a more fascist rule into our government. I love the American Ideals that I hold. They may not exist in reality but they do in my heart. I also love the Merkin people as a whole. I seperate the citizens from the rulers and hope that one day the mindset of my fellow people will evolve into one of tolerance.

I never even think about gay people until some obsessed, self-righteous asshole brings them up.

Anyway this is just some fool in a state legislature. We have a couple here too.

I, for one, disagree that this is a whole new level of stupid. This is the same level of stupid that Alabama politics plays at all year, every year. This is not American politics, despite this two-bit player's connections to the White House.

I wonder how he feels about books sponsored by and published under the auspices of a powerful bisexual man? Y'know, one of those guys who swings both ways?

Like the King James version of the Holy Bible...
