dont ya just love it when you're at the ass end of a 4 car pile up. and the dumb ass cop tries to pin all the damage on all the other 3 cars on you, I just tapped the guy in front me, this one will be going into the court room.
my truck - minor damage to front bumper I can get a replacement bumper for $125..it was the only vehlce that could drive away after
3rd car- minor damage to rear bumper.....front of the car is crushed, and air bag blown
2nd car front and rear end are both crushed (probably a right off) air bags also blown
1st car- rear end is crushed,
the girl in the first car chickened out trying to merge into traffic on a local highway, she slammed on her brakes and we all slammed into her.
no major injureis.. the people in the other cars looked pretty rattled, but they hit a lot harder than I did.

That sucks, roastelk. Glad you're OK though.
People who chicken out trying to merge into traffic, or who otherwise stop for no good reason, make me mad. :hulkout:

Damn, roastelk! Glad you weren't hurt! I hate that law stating that the last person in a line of cars gets charged, because it's usually not their fault. Can you fight it? Or will they at least get you for "following too close"?
My new pet peeve is people who decide to stop in the middle lane of a very busy road at night nearing an intersection because they don't know which way to turn. Damn if I didn't get close to smacking into the back of someone doing that last night. It won't kill you to turn around if you turn the wrong way, you know.

* Ymir's blood has a host of pet peeves along that line.
People who get in the wrong lane at an intersection and then block traffic trying to get over.
People who instead just try to go in the direction they want regardless of the lane they are in.

GET THEE TRAFFIC Attorney.
Well, you got a bunch HERE for advice, but also talk to your insurance company about it. If you have to go to court, make sure you have representation either from the insurance company or from yourself. Unless, of course, you are an attorney.
I do not smell it on you so. . . .

I do have a distinct smell too me , but its usaully more reminscant of eue de machine oil, and not court room funk
my insurance company is handling a lot of this stuff right now..its a bit diferent than the US up here though.
i know some us states only require 2 grand liabiility or something. We have a law requiring minumum $200 000 liabilty insurance up here, so its usually the insurnce companies fightin over this sort of stuff with each other in court to try and pay the least. im covered for a 1/2 million myself.
I garantee that what ever happens, my auto insurance premuims will be more expensinve when I renew in June. not too bad a driving record though, 12 years driving, with 1 photo radar ticket, and now one crash ( got my learners when I was 14)

The accident I was in was far more clear-cut, the old man in the Ford Taurus slammed into the back of the Chevy Silverado, causing him to hit the back of my Ford Ranger. In yoruse, it sounds to me like the other vehicles had already hit the ones in front of them before you made contact. In conclusion, you should've been written up because you did in fact fail to stop, but being at fault for the entire string of cars, no. Fight it. Make the insurance company fight it.

Hmmm. It works differently here. You pay the damage that your car caused; so if someone hits you and pushes you into another car you pay the damage to the other car and the person that crashed into you pays yours.
That doesn't really help you, now does it? Maybe I should just shut up now. :shutmou:
Anyway, glad you're ok, man.
