Restaurateur Jeff Ruby give O.J. and his date the boot from his Louisville steakhouse. (http://www.wlwt.com/news/13280170/detail.html) He is no stranger to the rich and famous. Ruby walked up to O.J.'s table and said "I'm not serving you." When O.J.'s date began raising a ruckus when he repeated that he was not serving O.J., Ruby told her "Listen, you're blonde – if I was you, you better be careful. He might slit your throat." Ruby says after O.J. and his cutthroat girlfriend left the other restaurant patrons applauded. Michael Jordan then entered the restaurant with his entourage, taking O.J.'s table.
Was Ruby right?

I would have done the same, If not have been a total dick to OJ. Then again, I'm not the best moral authority.

I assume Ruby has reserved the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, so good for him.

Was he right? Jury didn't think so. Did he have the right? Sure.

I think I'd make a special menu for folks like OJ, with three, maybe four extra trailing zeroes after each price. If he's willing to pay 8 grand for a cheeseburger, he can eat in my restaurant. Otherwise, there's a Taco Bell down the street.
Then again, the odds of me running a restaurant are about the same as the odds of Carl Sagan owning a restaurant.

Is this Jeff Ruby guy, by any chance, related to the late Jack Ruby? I smell a conspiracy here.
BTW, I believe that Carl Sagan is the proprietor of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Or maybe he is just the maître d'.

I posted it and I don't get it. And I spelled restaurant wrong. I hate it when I do that. Errors like that eat away at my will to live.

You edit yours and I'll edit the quotes in mine. How about that?

I already edited my post, but if you edit yours as well, this exchange won't make any sense at all. Not that I have a problem with that.
ETA: I see you have already edited yours. Rewriting history on the fly. To quote my sister, "the great thing about the past is that it is always subject to change".

Now we just need to edit our last two posts, removing the preceding conversation, then we'll have done our work rewriting history.
