I don't know if we already have a quote discussion thread, but we should have one, since we submitted the quotes.
Who submitted the Russ Nelson quote? Unless I'm very much mistaken, that's the Russ Nelson I know. What makes this interesting is that I know Russ Nelson through about a half-dozen different connections, including anti-spam activities, his development of a packet driver still in use in the DOS flash ROM one of my embedded systems came with, and last but not least, that he hosts http://www.quaker.org/ (http://www.quaker.org).
Care to quote the quote? I can't find it using any search I know. (Admins: is the "view all quotes" feature off-limits to search engines? Is there any way to search within the 11+ pages of quotes?)

I have no idea if the engines see, Joe. Perhaps vm does. AFAIK, there is no native search feature in the quote hack. It could use some work. If you know what I mean. Joe.

No, I have no idea what you mean... :worksign: :student: :student:

Who submitted the Russ Nelson quote?
It is quote #210, submitted by Corona688. (page 9)
""There are two types of hackers working on Linux: those who can spell, and those who can't. There is a constant, pitched battle between the two camps.""
- Russ Nelson (Linux Kernel Summary, Ver. 1.1.75 -> 1.1.76)

I loaded a page and used CTRL + F to find "Russ Nelson" If no response, it was 'go to the next page and try again.' Not fancy, but it only took a minute or so.

Small world. :)What makes this interesting is that I know Russ Nelson through about a half-dozen different connections, including anti-spam activities, his development of a packet driver still in use in the DOS flash ROM one of my embedded systems came with, and last but not least, that he hosts http://www.quaker.org/ (http://www.quaker.org). The packet driver thing hints he's the same person who worked on the linux kernel back then, but you obviously know him far better than I do. I just found a funny linux quote, and traced it back to it's origins.

Wow. Two degrees of separation. Take that, Kevin Bacon.

I ran into one the other day that I really enjoyed:
"Tact is for those not witty enough to be sarcastic."
... Not fancy, but it only took a minute or so.

Thank you. Now come out from behind the computer and remove foot from mouth (in the other order if you prefer).
