Saatchi & Saatchi/London has a new print/poster campaign in the U.K. that cleverly employs four dead rock stars – Kurt Cobain, Sid Vicious, Joey Ramone and Joe Strummer – as Doc Martens endorsers.

Not sure about the rest of them, but I am pretty sure Joe Strummer would not have approved. Sick bastards :fuming:

I hate that. Hate it.

I'm pretty confident that I speak for Cobain when I say, "No."

And Joey Ramone was more of a Chuck Taylor guy, all told.

Sid Vicious, who knows? That guy was pretty much retarded.

I'm going to have to avoid the paparazzi extra hard when I'm wearing mine, lest I too become a posthumous shill.

Also, if there is a heaven...would any of those four men be allowed inside? :chin:

In situations like this, I feel it's appropriate to quote the song "Naive Melody" by Talking Heads, "Never for money, always for love."

That gave me a disturbing mental image. Could you imagine Colin Newman hawking poorly made and highly overpriced shoes?
