Towel Off

May 25th marks the 1st annual Towel Day (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A557093) in commemoration of Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy five book trilogy. So, bring your towel to mop up any spills of your Pan-Galactic Gargle Blasters, and remember answer to "What is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything?" is 42.

It is proposed that Towel Day is to be celebrated on the last Friday of May from today forward, a day for H2G2 members to congregate, a day to remember the wisdom and wit of Douglas Adams, author. Oh, and don't forget to bring a towel, they're essential to the intrepid interstellar traveller.

To commemorate, I will imbibe a beverage that tastes almost, but not entirely unlike, tea. I will be sure to spike it with enough fortification to make the sensation somewhat like having my brains knocked out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a gold brick.

Somewhere else, I read that we should celebrate by eating peanuts and drinking beer. I've got some beer at home, but no peanuts. Got plenty of towels there, too.

Coincidentally, almost a year ago, while travelling, I lost my towel. It was devastating.
