Blambot (http://blambot.com/) has a large collection of free nice fonts(and better ones for sale, sadly). Anyone know any other good free artistic font collections?

I like fonts, although I haven't gone looking for any lately. I've downloaded quite a few, and end up using so few of them. But here's some sites I found bookmarked: DaFont (http://www.dafont.com/en/) , highfonts (http://www.highfonts.com/freefonts.asp?f=0) , and Chank has some freebies (http://www.chank.com/freefonts.php)

I thought it might be kind of fun to actually learn to make fonts, but changed my mind.... much easier to download free ones. :yup:

This is good, though rather limited in scope, I suppose.

Thanks for the links, DaFont and Fontenstein in particular look neat.I thought it might be kind of fun to actually learn to make fonts, but changed my mind.... much easier to download free ones. :yup: If you're a UNIX-user, you can give pfaedit (http://pfaedit.sourceforge.net/oldindex.html) a try. S'a very nice graphical truetype font creator/editor, just pick glyphs and draw curves. I used it to create the truetype version of this (http://uazu.net/notes/alien.html) font on a lark.

If you're a windows user, well, I'm sure there's any number of businesses that would be willing to charge you vast amounts of money for a program of the same functionality :P

You got that right, I think I have a very old version of Corel Freehand that might do. But, like I said, ain't got the time right now.

I think a lot of Larabie fonts are still free. Good fonts, too.

I'm kind of curious where you heard about Chank!. Chank! was a sophomore at Macalester College when I was a freshman. He was still a sophomore when I graduated. But he's been doing this font thing for a while and obviously found his niche. He was famous for being put in charge of publications by the student government and delivering them months behind schedule.
