For some reason I don't remember I decided to search Google for information on this large water tank I drive past on my way to work every day. Turns out it's the Martin Hill Reservoir - the largest steel potable water tank in the U-nited States of America. It can hold 35 million gallons of water and its footprint covers more ground than a football field. Not long ago, the city paid $1.5 million to have it re-lined inside and painted outside, but I can't for the life of me figure out how they did it. Shirley they didn't drain it first, and if they did where'd they put all that water?

I'm curious, but not curious enough to pay $25 for the report (http://sspc.micronexx.com/cgi-bin/SoftCart.exe/PDFSTORE/PAGES/CD10-54.htm?L+sspcstore+kuer1426+1177811315).

The contractor's webpage (I think that's what is) says they cut a door in the side to get equipment in, so presumably they drained it first.

ETA something altered my link from just the URL to a description. I call WTF? :narrow:

Cool, thanks for the info! Considering the dearth of data available I'm surprised I missed that page.
