Wasn't sure where to put this, so I thought I'd dump it here...

Does anyone know of any web-hosting or internet account service that doesn't contain an obscenity clause in its TOS? This piece of legal loop-hole has been giving me the shits for a while now and another website I frequent just invoked it to validate their Cynical Moneygrabbing Fucking Arseholishness and fuck over its users. That's *counts* five in about as many years that have fucked up like this, and I'd really love for it not to happen in the future, if I can help it.

So, does such a thing exist, or is it illegal not to have one?

Most services seem to have obscenity clauses as a sort of catchall 'oh shit we're getting complaints and we hate bad press, time to press the button and make the problems go away' - it's pretty rarely enforced until someone gets a bug up their ass about your site, or you personally, and whines loudly enough.

Might want to find a host in one of those sites out of western Europe (a bit dodgy maybe, but they host an awful lot of the crack/hack/porn and don't seem to give a shit). Sorry I can't be more specific, but I haven't dealt much with them on a personal level.

I'm using midPhase (http://www.midphase.com/index.php) right now, and while they do have an obscenity clause (listed with hate speech and abuse). Kiddie porn gets a separate and more explicit clause, though, which might mean that they have a pretty loose definition.

This being the sad fact that keeps shitting me off with said sites.
