Ok, one of the residents at the nursing home I work at has a computer, and he's online. His computer is running like crap, and he has all this wonderful spyware installed. I'm helping him clean it out.

The guy writes short stories, and he's pretty visually impaired. Once I get his computer clean I'd like to install some software on his computer so he can see what he's doing.

Does anyone know of any free "zoom" type software for his PC?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a list of screen magnifiers for windows that are freeware or shareware. I can't vouch for any of them personally, but it's a pretty decent sized list so maybe what you are looking for is in there.

The only one I know of first-hand is DesktopZoom (http://downloads.zdnet.com/download.aspx?&kw=DesktopZoom&docid=225260), although I heard of it in a graphic design context.

It's small and easy to use, but only works for Windows XP/2000.

Great, thanks guys! Between all these I'm sure I'll be able to find something to fit his needs. :super:

Some versions of Windows (e.g. XP) have Magnifier as standard. It's pretty basic, but it is already there.
