A giant, smiling Lego man was fished out of the sea in the Dutch resort of Zandvoort on Tuesday.

Workers at a drinks stall rescued the 2.5-metre (8-foot) tall model with a yellow head and blue torso.

"We saw something bobbing about in the sea and we decided to take it out of the water," said a stall worker. "It was a life-sized Lego toy."link (http://uk.reuters.com/article/oddlyEnoughNews/idUKL0787011420070807?feedType=RSS)

I, for one, welcome our new giant-sized Lego Man overlords.

Can't rightly call this one a minifig, so, a maxifig, then?

Lilliput?

I saw a different photo yesterday at the BBC site and couldn't believe it wasn't a photoshop.

Hmmm, it turns out our Lego friend was at Dance Valley (http://www.egoleonard.com/dancevalley/dancevalley.html) (a techno festival) a month ago

It seems it's a statement from a group that wants people to get off the internet and get to know the 'real world'. The statement is that a legoman in the real world is just as ridiculous as a human in the virtual world.

Of course neither is ridiculous, it's cool :joecool:

I'm sure there must be some way to link all these events together, in an orderly, geometric precision.

If these are indeed our new Lego Overlords come to conquer, we must fight them with the tried-and-true methodology: giant heat registers, gargantuan vacuums, and massive couches.

So somebody is killing giant Lego dudes and dumping their bodies in the ocean. What has the world come to? It's just sad.

We must fight, because verily, I am not looking forward to tripping over that big of a lego piece at 3 am.

A giant Lego man has now appeared on a Brighton beach

I guess he was a casualty from the fire on the pier in the background.
