Thanks, liv, and everyone else!

'Replete'? No, but I did get to spend it with my beautiful wife, so I was happy enough. It was a good day ... I'll post more about it later (not much time right now).

Happy late birthday from a Rochesterian in exile and fellow 30-somethinger!

Thanks, GD. It was a very un-Rochester like day ... 50+ degrees ... although, it was still overcast and drizzly.

We had some friends -- who we'd met during our time in Charleston, and are now living in Charlotte -- fly up that morning for the weekend. The same friends who'd said they'd never be caught this far north during this time of year ... too cold for them. Well, the nice weather made it more like home for them. Although, now we find out they're going to take a trip to Finland and stay one night in an ice hotel! They're big travellers -- we did Mammoth Cave and the Ky Derby with them back in '98.

Anyway, my FIL watched our son and the rest of us went out for dinner and a movie (Meet the Fockers, which was quite good, although when I hear 'Fockers' I keep thinking of 'Fokkers'). The following day, the MIL took the kid and we went to Niagara Falls for the day. Our friends are big fans of the Hard Rock and collect glasses from everywhere they actually visit (and at least have a drink in), so they got two from this trip -- lunch at the HRC in NY, and drinks at the HRC in Canada! We parked in NY and walked across the bridge into Canada (C$0.50 to get back into the States?!?!). Saw the sights a bit, gambled some, and then returned home.

I'd been off from work since around 11am on 12/23, so this morning was a bad dose of reality ... not to mention being Monday on top of it! I ended up doing one job three times to get it right and broke several drill bits in the process -- not standard drill bits either: special ones for a machine that can etch a circuit board from copper-plated material. It's like an engraver, but we use it to make simple 2-sided circuit boards.

Anyway, I had a good break, but could still use some time off to catch up on my sleep!
