Ainorite?! What I don't get (other that the obvious question of why the fuck anyone would want to be jammed into a puddle with a thousand other people at all) is why bother with the inane flotation devices?

I am with vm, just looking at that video gave me that feeling of panic and suffocation. It's like people soup.

It's people! Japanese wave pools are made out of people!

I'm sorry, is there actual water involved somewhere?

I'm thinking the answer is no. By that point, it has to be mostly sweat and little-kid pee.

Eww! You're right Uthgar.

Was that it? I kept expecting some horrible tragedy. This is the internets after all.

Sure, its crowded but no worse than a shopping mall on the day before Christmas.

What mall do you shop at??

:shudder: I don't want to think how much pee is entering that pool and poor lifeguards, trying to keep track of everybody there. If you find yourself drowning, you're pretty much on your own, you'd better hope your nearby pool mates will rescue you.

What mall do you shop at??None, now. I do all my Christmas shopping online. I remember that Crabtree in Raleigh was pretty bad in the late 80s, early 90s though.

I rather liked Crabtree though I've never actually gone there during the Christmas shopping season. The Four Seasons in Greensboro was pretty bad back in the early 90s too but now with shopping online, it appears that the Christmas crowds have been dwindling every passing season.

Have you been in a wave pool without a floatie? You are a good 1.5 - 2 feet shorter than everybody else, treading water with just your head and neck above the surface. You're invisible to everybody else, and you get elbows and innertubes to the face repeatedly, and the offenders aren't even aware that it happened. It's completely frustrating.

I've actually never been in a wave pool period.

It's actually fun...as long as you and maybe four other friends are the only ones in the entire wave pool.

NASTY

I am so not a germophobe. At all. If I ever have children, I will force them to eat dirt on a regular basis. Builds character. But water parks? At the best of times? Are GROSS. FUCKING UNBELIEVABLY GROSS. And that is the grossest water park-associated thing I've ever, ever seen. :gross:

If I recall correctly, urine is fairly sterile.
