Shooting has wrapped on this film and now it's in post-production with a release date this winter.
Personally, I think they should have gotten a release date on November 30th, but that may not be the case.
Anyway, you should check out the website before the gaze of the corporate media makes them more circumspect, because right now it looks pretty awesome, with some very good short video clips. I was there on N30 and frankly I was worried, but looking around at their various sites has excited me. If they manage to squeeze in even half of the radicalism that I see in their thinking, then I will be a happy man. :che:

*sigh*
Someone forgot to renew their website's domain and it's been deleted. I can't imagine this happening unless the studio was trying to pull the movie, which has been my fear all along (aside from the obvious one that the film would simply suck). :(
I seriously hope this is not to be pulled and re-cut to be some reassuringly bland pap, like most Hollywood films about politics and social movements turn out to be.
It's supposed to be receiving its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and the schedules for the TIFF will be announced at noon (I assume eastern time) today. I'll look then and check in back here to report whether it's been pulled or not.

There's nothing in the news about it being pulled, or on the Insight Studios (http://www.insightfilm.com/battle.html) or Proud Mary Entertainment (http://proudmaryent.com/films.htm) websites. Plus, when you go to the link the redirect says "the monikersearch.com domain name is for sale", not "the battleinseattlemovie.com domain name is for sale".
At this point I'm going to guess that the most likely scenario is a deliberate or accidental technical malfunction.

I'm sorry, I should have disclosed some pertinent information. When I first saw that the website had disappeared, I went and did a WHOIS search to pull up the domain's registration records. They only had a year-long lease on the name which was up on July 30, 2007 and nobody renewed it.
It might be an oversight, or it might be purposeful. I think I'll know more by noon today, though, if the film is still in the list to be shown at TIFF.
Edit: The Toronto International Film Festival is embargoing its list of films until tomorrow at noon. It's a reasonable choice, because the list of films was to be published an hour after the press conference, the scheduled press conference conflicted with a funeral.

Ah, that makes sense.

Okay, I just looked and it will be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival, which is fifteen days away. I hope that they'll realize they don't have an official website by then and fix it.
