I have to admit, when I first saw the raw footage of this distributed on various pages through YouTube, I wondered whether the protesters weren't jumping to conclusions. But the boots, which you can't really see on the video, gave it away. The three scary dudes were wearing the same boots as the riot police.

I love that quote: "At no time did the officers in question engage in provocation or incite anyone to commit violent acts"

Really? The masked bodybuilder carrying that big rock?

Uh. Hm. Yes, that's a tough one. [Three days pass while the cops think.] "Someone handed it to him. He forgot to put it down."

ETA: The protest, by the way, was against a meeting for the "Security and Partnership Proposal", a virtually off-the-books process for harmonizing Canada-US operations in all sorts of key respects. It never reports to Parliament, and the meetings (which included the Prime Minister) have no recorded discussion or any other means of checks and confirmation by citizens. Only the heads of a handful of Canada's largest corporations were invited.

Of course, this makes some rabble concerned. The lefty Canadian media manages to forget the story between breakfast and lunch without exception.

Hey, the RCMP's story is good enough for Stockwell Day, it's good enough for you.

(Wasn't Stockwell Day the guy who had to be reminded that The Flintstones wasn't a documentary?)

And that water flows downhill. Canadian jobs and expertise are flowing southward, you see, "just like the Niagara River".
