Brace yourselves for the controversial Bloom County strip that various papers across the nation refused to publish. Definitely NSFW.

Ha!
That made me laugh more than every BC and Dilbert comic I've read.

Because papers are scared of any comic that might be perceived as mocking or disrespecting Islam on account of the whole Danish cartoon thing a while back. Everyone but Salon refused to run last weeks strip as well because of the Lola Granola conversion story line.

Ohhh ... I see. I'd forgotten about the Dutch thing.

I saw last week's strip online (as I do all my comics) but didn't think anything of it. I guess I'm guilty of taking our freedom for granted.

I like the "because of the sexual innuendo in the punchline." I've seen more sexual innuendo in a PG movie.

My local paper (a Knight-Ridder joint) ran this week's 'Opus' cartoon, BUT changed Steve Dallas' last statement to read, "...is how we're gonna straighten out the world," not "...the Middle East."

The ran last week's too, but without any edits.

Yeah, the Washington Post wouldn't even print the one with the 'world' edit.

And yet the WP won't edit that fucking existentialist clown so that it is funny.

Turns out, the inventor of the burquini (http://www.salon.com/mwt/broadsheet/2007/09/05/opus/index.html) thought the comic ruled.

Huh. Works for me. It's Salon's Broadsheet. You get a commercial if you're not subscribed/logged in.

I got a "YOU HAVE ENTERED A DEN OF INIQUITY TURN BACK NOW!" popup.

Stupid work.
