15 minutes into the game and we're already 31 - 0. The All Blacks are wiping the floor with the Italians!
Oooh, and when the AB's were doing the Haka, Italy had to get into a huddle 'cos they were skeered. :scaredbaby:
Only the Pope can save Italy now! :D
Go, All Blacks!!!

Italy has a rugby team? Huh. ;P

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'm not sure they really can be called a rugby team, but I guess they had to throw together a bunch of blokes for the Cup.
It really is quite an exciting game. Even I'm getting all excited! Great game. :D

The Italian team is professional and highly competitive, especially their forward pack, which is why the manner of their defeat in this game was a surprise (even to AB fans). Many pundits have tipped the Italians to get to the quarter-finals and potentially cause an upset, but the ABs destroyed them. Too bad they eased off too much towards the end. My only concern is that Byron threw yet another interception pass, which is becoming a trend and will cost us in bigger matches.
Incidentally, Martin Johnson has just spouted some nonsense about how the game has "done no favours" for the ABs, since high-pressure contests against better opponents are a lot different and the ABs don't have enough experience of them. I guess he must have forgotten that the ABs won the Tri-Nations again and annihilated the French, in addition to hammering the Lions and clean-sweeping the European sides on tour.

Not bad for a little country with a smallish population, eh. :)
And I surprised myself by staying up to watch the game, and then thoroughly enjoying it. I'll be watching the rest of the AB's games in this tournament, for sure.
And on that note, it's time to crash. I hope fragment doesn't have too much of a hangover tomorrow! :D

Well, I'd have been more sorry if it were a sorrier game; but it was too exciting and I forgot myself. :D

Could have been more sorry? Might has well have giftwrapped it in a cloak woven out of fresh cilantro. Sheesh!

Yeah but I would've made it frozen cilantro. I'm nice like that, honest. :naughty:

Ah but my padawan, your mercy shall be your undoing. The dark side requires total devotion. You must not hesitate when you strike. You must not flinch!

Sorry to disappoint you Petra, but I'm not really a True Kiwi. I wouldn't recognise an All Black if he was couriered to my door with a silver fern sequined on his arse.
(PM your address should you like me to redirect in case one happens to turn up like that)

Hehe. It was the first game of rugby I've ever sat all the way through. I surprised myself by staying up to watch it, and then surprised myself by enjoying it as much as I did. It was the first couple of minutes that got me hooked - exciting stuff. :D
And I had no idea who was who, except for the really high profile names (Dan Carter, Doug Howlett, and the McCraw guy).
I doubt I'll watch the other teams in the Cup, but I'll definitely try to watch the AB games. I may become a convert yet. :yup:
This reminds me of the Jamaican bobsleigh team.
