Just outta curiousity: Why do you say that American "Social security needs to be modified, no doubt. If its not changed, its going to be a huge disaster"?
I'm not laying a trap or anything; I'm no expert on SS. But my sneaking suspicion is that a lot of rhetoric whereby it's become a received view that SS needs to be "fixed" was politically motivated. Certainly I've not yet seen any serious attempt to demonstrate the fact, and I've seen a good deal of shenanigans in the non-serious attempts. See today's (or rather yesterday's) Daily Howler (http://www.dailyhowler.com/), for instance -- the second story on the page. (For finding the link subsequently, that'll be the DH from Tuesday Jan 4 2005, once you get to Somerby's site).
[Edit: Now that today's (Wed. Jan 5) Daily Howler is up, I see that it too is about SS]

That smilie's pretty funny, since the blue one is consoling the red one. Perhaps it's a Kerry supporter comforting a newly awakened, horrified and repentant Bush voter? :giggle:

It's a blue smilie putting the moves on a same-sex red smilie, by moving across state lines. It shows how the rot spreads from evil liberal states to holy conservative ones.

Y'all are perverts. Although it does kind of look like they're kissing lingeringly at the end. :examine:

Thanks. Yes, I understood you to be saying that. But why do you think so?
The DH links, for instance, suggest that the danger is anywhere from decades to forever down the road.
