Hehe. No split personality. She really is my sister.
I wonder if she'll ever post?
I wonder if I should, like, welcome her or something? ...

Illuminati
Trilateral Commission
Nine-story underground prison camp under Denver International Airport, run by our future alien overlords
Intenet cabal
Knights Templar
New World Order
"training bra story"
There is a worldwide Masonic conspiracy, but none of that other stuff.

I SAID there is no nine-story prison camp. None.
It's only six stories. (http://www.anomalies-unlimited.com/Denver_Airport.html) Everybody knows that.

I will happily defend their right to have whoever they wish on their membership list based on whatever criteria they choose - but the place makes me feel really slimy. I hadn't been there in months and only started reading threads there over the last few days - I don't know quite how to describe it, but it's not somewhere I want to be, and I found myself feeling very disappointed and saddened by one or two people...or nine or ten people...and the whole oily feel of the place kinda creeped me out.

Hey, I like that mural in Denver Airport!
But then again, I like Leo Tanguma's stuff - his style reminds me of Diego Rivera.
I think every international airport should have a weird-ass mural and a six (or nine) story prison beneath it. You have to have somewhere to throw all those artless mural critics!

I normally wouldn't stick my nose in, because I am far too simple a man to even begin to understand board politics, but is there a good reason to be doing this here?
Nobody who does read and/or post to that board can effectively rebut your opinions, due to the privacy policies, and it probably makes those who aren't registered there feel a little uneasy.
Also, it's kind of boring, and I'm pretty sure that's against the law.

I can understand the need to talk about personal issues in a private space; but after wandering around HH, I'm mindful that a hidden forum can become a cesspool for backbiting bitchiness. I'd really hate this place to go so far that way that the forum as a whole evolves into that kind of culture.
I dunno, Beth. It's a tricky one.

I have no intention of leaving HH, I don't think it is tainted and I still like the privacy. But I think maybe a private board inside here for members only might be nice.

We discussed this idea in this thread (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1017), Beth. Pay no attention to the poll, since most people voted before we had hashed out the real effects of implementing such a forum so most of the 'yes' votes proved to be based on erroneous assumptions. From that discussion we decided it wasn't something we want to do, at least in the immediate future.

I guess I honestly don't understand why people care so much. Personally, I like the concept of private forums. There are just sometimes you want to post about something without a serious risk of your mom or a potential employer running across it. And if you're going to maintain any semblance of privacy, you have to control access to it somehow. You've either got to make individual decisions, have a broad policy to establish criteria for membership, or some combination thereof. Individual decisions will lean toward capriciousness, and across-the-board membership criteria lead toward throwing out the baby with the bathwater. I can't imagine how you'd maintain a private forum without erring one way, the other, or even both. Sometimes, you just have to skin a few cats if you want to have pie later. Or whatever.
Nobody who does read and/or post to that board can effectively rebut your opinions, due to the privacy policies, and it probably makes those who aren't registered there feel a little uneasy.

You didn't mean mine, did you? Because I didn't say what my opinions are. I mean I probably have some unarticulated ones, but even if I do, they're too boring even for me.
s kind of boring, and I'm pretty sure that's against the law.
What, HH or this thread derail?
The subject in general. I am bored by things that I don't understand, and I don't understand group dynamics or board politics, and I can barely keep track of the people I don't like, much less the complicated feudin' matrix of who doesn't like whom, so even if I could actually read all the way through those threads, a good half of it would go right over my head.
Which is not meant to be judgemental of those who have the mental capacity to follow such discussions, but I'm just hypocritical enough to still think y'all should all be hauled off to the hoosegow for a night to cool your heels and think about how bored you made me.
