I've worked with this guy for years and never suspected the depths of sleaze he lived in.

He's always been a bit iffy. Always late, sometimes absent, vanishing without warning, never tells anyone anything, never owns up to a mistake, suffers suspicious migraines, depression, back problems, etc. preventing him coming to work yet is still able to participate in soccer when he wants to. I sympathize with people with depression and headaches, I've had both, but this is the guy that makes it so hard for the genuine sufferers to be believed. He's also nice enough to be around that one can overlook a lot of that, to a point.

He also finagled to get a much better work computer than he really needed, ostenibly for editing video for the recording project we got contracted for. sure, a good computer is needed to edit video, but not THAT good. That RAID array never got more than 10% full, he only needed one of that stack of huge drives.

Finally it got too much for the boss to stand. Him and his friend were on a business trip, doing installs in a distant province, when they got fed up with the work or something, buggered off in the company vehicle, and flew home. He and his friend got sacked. That's two out of three technicians gone, I'm the only one left. Taking over a few of his extra responsibilities got me a small payraise that I'd just as soon not have if it meant we still had more help. We're going to need a lot of help without them, this guy was our certified installer, and his friend was the penultimate handyman.

We've been having mysterious, expensive problems with our vehicles and heavy equipment lately. The wiring for the brake and taillights on our company pickup got torn off, somehow; we figured it happened when driving through heavy brush. Our neighborhood handyman thought he saw a suspicious handprint, making us wonder about vandals, but that's hard to prove too. Our manlift is also been out of commission for the moment.

With him gone we've been cleaning up his mess and reorganizing our tools, and things are missing. I was going through the stuff left by his desk to see if it was in there, and found two important things. A manual for a Sony BWU-100A 2x Blu-Ray burner An empty hole in his work computer where one used to be So he's not just a liar and a thief, he's also an idiot. Not only does he trick his boss into buying him a $750 piece of electronics(he told her he needed it to burn DVD's for the video project, she didn't know better) and make off with it, he leaves behind the fucking manual as proof of both his crime and the lies that got the thing bought and paid for.

Now we're sure that he's been fucking with us. We can't prove he damaged our truck, disabled our manlift, and made off with nearly $1,000 in equipment(not including the burner, which I'm god damn sure he took), but I personally have no doubts. Our neighborhood handyman took at look at the lift. Someone took power drill to the wiring. With the result that Mr. Asshat sadly had no work to do for those last two days and was forced to sit around browsing sports websites and messageboards.

GOD DAMMIT! I wanted a payraise, but not like this.

Damn. I thought this was going to be about persistent coughing or poisonous gossip or something along those lines. Instead I get a saboteur. That is seriously fucked up, Corona688. Is there anything y'all can do, like maybe install a security video system in key areas?

The FIRST thing my boss did before letting him go was change all the locks. This was before we learned this other crap, she must've suspected something. I'd be surprised if she wasn't considering cameras already too, of course I'll suggest anyway. It'd be a natural enough extension of our existing security system.
