Incredible Mt. St. Helens

I look almost daily at two volcano sites. The new web cam for Mt. St. Helens in Washington is quite an upgrade from the old ones. The Kilauea web site also has incredible views, although the Pu 'u 'O 'O cone in Hawaii is collapsing and is constantly covered in fume since August, so not much there, but I keep looking. A new camera set up along an active fissure is cool to look at during the night with a river of lava slicing through the land. The fire shows up best when it's dark.

It is larger and growing more each day. Mt St Helens has been erupting since 2004 building the dome, trying to make a new peak.

I like how the folds in the lava look like scales too and how the horizon disappears into the fumy mists. I need to look in my files to see if I have a web cam shot of Pu 'U 'O 'o. Oh wait, I think I already posted that here. Never mind.

I was trying to remember what that cloud is called. I loved watching it form over the course of the morning as shown in the first two photos. Can really see how the air was moving. And then in your shot how it was like a nice cap, where the actual mountain peak used to be.

Then it finished off the day with no clouds at all. The perfect ending, to a gorgeous day!

I posted a link to the Mt. St. Helens volcano cam (http://www.freethought-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2055&highlight=volcano+cam) a couple years ago. I used to look at it every day, but since my parents moved back to Oklahoma, not so much.
