I got this recipe from the little booklet that came with the popper (http://www.sgw.ca/shopping/product.php?id=19) (which kicks ass too, incidentally) and it's quite simply the best popcorn ever. Since Helen won't take that on faith, I have no choice but to post the recipe so she can verify my results with her own experiential evidence. :chemist:

Cajun Popcorn

3 Tblsp butter
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne powder
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp salt
12 cups popped corn

In a small, heavy saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in all the spices and cook for 1 minute. Pour over popcorn, tossing to coat evenly. Lift your voices up unto Me and praise My name.

I am going to try this! :yup: Thanks (12 cups is a bit much though, I think I will half the recipe)

Cool! Yeah, the 12 cups was to feed the masses. Several of them a little dry-mouthed and peckish, if ya know what I mean. ;)

When I want cajun popcorn, I simply use Tony Chachere's Original Creole Seasoning (http://www.tonychachere.com/store/i/products/b/seasoning-original.jpg) instead of salt.

That stuff is great. Real cajun spice, no effort at all.

Try it on buttered corn!

I wonder why recipies always say 'heavy saucepan' is it like a conspiracy to get you to buy new cookware? I have light saucepans - so what? I can't have cajun popcorn? :(

They just retain and distribute heat more evenly is all, Legs. Of course you can use a light saucepan; just be sure to keep an eye on it so as to avoid scorching. :)

It's better that way. No need to dig out stuck kernels.

That's what I'm talking about.

The rest is far, far too much work...game's on, beer's cold!
