Does anyone know about this Seinfeld DVD box set?
All 9 seasons on 23 DVDs for $169.95.
www.tvshowsondvds.net
Something about this doesn't smell right.
That website seems to have only the one product, the Seinfeld DVD box set.
Can't find where they are located, but apparently it is "offshore".
No phone numbers, fax numbers, or mailing address, or even a company name.
Can't find what carrier they use for shipping.
Delivery takes 2 to 4 weeks.
I can't find any useful whois info (just points back to the registrar).
Why are they using a .net domain for retailing instead of .com?
It seems the site was not in existence prior to December 23, 2004 (but I may be mistaken about that if they were with another registrar previously).
The advertising copy does not seem to have been written by someone whose native language is English.
There is no region coding (although that all by itself isn't necessarily a red flag, it just adds to the bad smell I'm getting from all the other things.)
This box set doesn't seem to have all the extras that the "official" DVDs have (and by official I mean as sold by amazon.com and other legitimate retailers).
I'm suspicious that the video quality might be VCD (mpeg 1), even though it is on DVD.
Anyone else heard of this Seinfeld DVD box set?
