Seriously. Kinda.

I listened to an NPR episode a few weeks ago about US imperialism and the screw ups of the past.

The book was Legacy of Ashes: The History of The CIA.

It was an interesting and different perspective on people like JFK (the book is not overly kind to his legacy).

Link is here (http://www.whyy.org/rameta/RT/2007/RT20070731_20.ram) which was an interesting listen if I do say so myself.

Hi, btw.

Well, I can't use your link.

I would be interested in how they treated the Dulles brothers of the Eisenhower administration.

And to think I thought it was a top secret electronically guided MAGIC (Missile-launching Automatic Gun, Intelligent Control) "bullet" fired by a Cuban-Mafia CIA informant-hitman from the grassy knoll on orders from the Illuminati Bilderburger Masonic Knights Templar, who also framed Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald's killer, Jack Ruby, was just a closeted homosexual who loved JFK more than life itself.

I tried backing it up a bit.

That didn't work either.

Here's a c/p of what you should come up if your correctly figure out the link but I'm a dummy :D

Hour 1
According to Pulitzer-prize winning reporter TIM WEINER, the CIA’s history is one of catastrophic failure starting with its work behind the Iron Curtain to its current efforts in Iraq. Weiner's new book is “Legacy of Ashes: The History of the CIA" has been nominated for a National Book Award. Weiner has been covering the CIA for over twenty years. This is a rebroadcast so tune-in but don't call-in.
Listen to this show via Real Audio

I get that by going to the radio times archive at the bottom of the following linked page and typing in "Legacy of Ashes".

Dunno why the links don't work.

Nah...LBJ put out the hit.

See, here's the thing- I used to make up conspiracy theories on long car trips and what I came up with is that the Johnson family has plotted to kill one president per century and become president thereby. Lincoln, Kennedy...Who knows who it will be in the 21st century?

And now the sad part....I once posted the above on an Indymedia site as an example of how totally unrelated facts are wound together to create conspiracy theories and how very easy it is. What happened next was a barrage of "Can you please provide links to original sources backing this up, as I would like to know more about it; you are definitely onto something here!! !" posts. :oyvey:

It was me!

There, I said it. Are you happy now? I just wanted to forget the whole thing and get on with my life, but noooooo. You bastards keep pushing, and pushing, always asking "Who killed JFK?" -- and always, in my experience, doing it where I'll hear it or read it. Well, fine. I've had enough of the embarrassed silence -- oh, as if none of you ever killed a sitting president, you hypocritical jerks -- so this time I'm just saying it. Social graces be damned, I'm saying it.

It was me. I did it.

Caligulette's Corollary: Never allow a Johnson to serve as Vice-president.

In which case, we've already failed this century.

J.F.K.’s Death, Re-Framed - New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/22/opinion/22holland.html?th&emc=th)

It's a little op-ed about how the Zapruder film doesn't actually cover all three shots fired at Kennedy. No huge revelation or anything, but an interesting piece to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the assassination.
