I made a horrible mistake. I merged FormerFundie2004's duplicate threads in Philo and then deleted the OP instead of the second post. By doing this, it deleted the entire merged thread, thereby obliterating FormerFundie2004's work and the two replies by LadyShea and Dragar.
I am so sorry, FormerFundie2004. I'm familiar enough with the software to know better and have no excuse whatsoever for making such a dreadful error. The horror is compounded by the fact that you were so wonderfully complimentary about the open minds here at FF.
I very much hope you can recreate your lovely post. I apologize from the bottom of my heart and assure you I will never make such a mistake again.
My apologies also to LadyShea and Dragar and anyone who might have posted while I was merging the threads.

No, it's okay livius. It was only a ten page thesis on the nature of reality, as found by the latest dicoveries of quantum mechanics.
I'm sure that one day, once I've recovered from the shock of seeing my post deleted, I'll be able to pull myself together to re-write this groundbreaking piece.
Probably.

Um... Thank you? I promise I'll get right on those quantum smilies. Now's the chance to ask for anything. I'm primed by my massive guilt.

Nah, it's probably for the best. Mankind wasn't ready to hear my ideas. They would have doubtless triggered a revolution of thought, and who really wants a revolution nowadays?
Wait...anything, you say...? :chin:

Weeeell ya know... We all wanna change the world.
Wait...anything, you say...? :chin:
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao, you ain’t gonna make it with anyone anyhow.

Weeeell ya know... We all wanna change the world.
Do we? Do we really?
Sorry, I'm in a really daft mood. Lack of sleep and too much maths will do this.

Suddenly my errors are made clear!

Dammit livius, leave it to you! Now I have to refind the smilie I used and click a button again. I don't have time for this nonsense.

Yes. Yes we do. Recreate it in our own image, in fact.

Oh well, that explains the whole lighthearted kindness thing. Thankfully we've got a few years (months? decades?) of such moods to look forward to.

Switch to Stalin, perhaps? I hear he's a chick magnet.

It's an odd feeling this combination of lacerating guilt and helpless giggling. Where's the smiley for that, huh? Where?

In light of that, it scares me when I glance around my room.

It all depends. I have two and a half more years of university before I finish my MSc, and then I could always apply to do a PhD...

I have heard this.

So your world would basically be a giant bed under which we could stuff things?

I say take your own sweet time about it and stick with the lack of sleep and excessive math as long as humanly possible.

It's the mustache. Solid enough to take any girl for the ride of her life.

I do have a giant bed, left by the previous tenant of this room...
But, no. My world would have pink walls and roof, a black carpet, and littered randomly and liberally with sheets of paper with various physics equations written upon them. Some are even stuck to the walls. I drew the line at attaching them to the roof, though I am still toying with the idea.

Yup. I figure, if I'm to be a leech upon society's resources for the first eighteen years of my life, why not for the next eighteen?
Then again, I do sometimes miss living in a house with heating, insulation, carpets dated later than the 70s, and being able to consume more than two British pounds (that's in money) worth of food a day.

Now we know why WWII went the way it did. Hitler was jealous!
