Did anyone else see it? It was Serena's (Elizabeth Rohm's) last episode as the ADA. That dick DA (Fred Thompson) gave her the old heave ho, telling her she was too passionate, that she was an advocate not a prosecutor, that advocacy can be warm-blooded but prosecution must be cold-blooded yada yada yada.
She's all "Does Jack feel as strongly about this as you do?"
Him: "No, but it's my office and he accepts my decision."
Her: "There's a decision?" <gulp>
Him: "Yes. You're fired."
Her: "Is this because I'm a lesbian?"
Him: <shocked expression possibly because this is the first we've heard of this tasty tidbit and possibly because she looked really hot tonight> "No. No. Certainly not."
Her: "Good. Good."
~~ Fin ~~
It was great.
Oh, and I work with Fred Thompson's aunt. That's my tasty tidbit for the night. Doesn't really compare, I know, but I do what I can.

Hey, ratfink! we ain't seen that episode yet! :missing:#163

Why did you peek in here?! I saw the thread title and made myself stay away. As I was watching, though, I kept thinking "did I miss it?"
It was great, wasn't it? I kind of thought it was a big Hollywood "fuck you" to.... um... people who don't like lesbians.
Anyway, she did look hot, didn't she? Loved her hair.

Oh c'mon... I specifically titled it to make the spoilerish nature of the OP clear. I just couldn't bring myself to encase the splendor of the moment in spoiler tags.

What the...?! Dave are you outchoremind? Did you have someone tape it for you, at least? Did you know it was Serena's swan song last night? I thought for sure you'd be the first one to post about it.

I thought so too. Just a little bird to flip in what has been a generally conservative season. And so casually tossed out there, too. It just ruled.
Anyway, she did look hot, didn't she? Loved her hair.
She looked the best she's ever looked on L&O. They screwed the pooch with her hair and makeup from the beginning (remember the painted whore phase from a couple of seasons ago? She should have sued.). Last night they finally got it right and she looked absolutely gorgeous.

Ok, this was a spoiler, but since I didn't get to watch it that's ok. Plus, it's L&O and so completely in its own category in which I could probably read the entire episode online and then still watch it a dozen times and enjoy it. Anyway, I had seen on imdb that this was her last season.
Sounds fab!

No, I knew she was leaving in the middle but didn't know when her last episode would air. I tend to avoid "big deal" episodes of most shows, as they tend to be overhyped. And with L&O I'm not too attached to any of the characters. It's Elisabeth Rohm I love, not Serena.
It was more important to me to refresh my memory of Battlestar Galactica in preparation for the series premiere on Friday. And lust after Starbuck in a sports bra.

I don't recall any hype at all about this episode. I certainly had no idea it was going to be her last, although I knew she was leaving in the middle of the season. I also didn't mean to imply that you somehow gave a shit about Serena's character development. I just figured you'd take any opportunity to get an eyefull of ER.
Oh well, so you missed her at peak hotness. There'll be reruns.

I hadn't heard she was leaving. Totally surprised me, but it was a great moment with more sense of reality than all reality TV combined.
And holy fucking shit on the hotness meter, too. What have they been doing until now? Her face during the close-ups of the final scene was the most sensual thing to hit L&O since Jill Hennessy.

I sat up straight in my chair and literally said 'HUH?!?!?!?!?' when this happened.
Was this.... is there any background? I know I've missed a bunch of episodes.... but.... this one sorta hit me out of left field. Was that intentional or did I miss her outing earlier?
(Btw.... totally agree on the hottness. ;))

I don't know what's more suprising... that you swing that way or that Starbuck wears a sports bra.

You didn't miss a thing, Corwin. In three years there was not so much as a hint that Serena was gay. Every once in a while she even flirted with that big ho McCoy. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :giggle:

Be surprised no longer, in the new Galactica show, Starbuck's a girl (http://battlestarfanclub.com/battlestar/photos/newbsg6.jpg), baby!

Jeez, y'all, I thought that :missing: was a dead giveaway that I was :qjk: . Doncha know that I only call my FRIENDS ratfinks? It's a term of endearment, isn't it? :didi:
I can't say that I have any comment on ER's looks. For one thing, I hardly ever pay attention to stuff like that. For another, I guess, I was influenced by the lack of style that the show imparted to her (apparently, according to y'all) over the last years. Finally, since I am one of those nuts that refuses to pay for TV, the way things look depends a lot upon the weather at the moment; at "the moment" in this instance, my rabbit ears were only delivering wavy and blotchy during the broadcast. So I can't say I noticed anything in particular about the way ER looked. EVERYBODY looked weird and distorted.

Also, in an episode that touched on statutory rape she implied that she had had sex with her male prom date when she was 17. But I don't think it's unheard of for lesbians to have sex with boys or men during their teens, while they're still coming to terms with their sexuality.

Or even later in life.... it's been said that female sexuality is more... fluid... than male.

Aargh! I was online and saw this thread, literally ran downstairs and flipped on the TV, about 35 mins into the ep, totally waiting for the end...and then Jack left her office, and they cut out. I'm like, "omigod, did they cut it out or something?", all feeling like a dumbass and stuff.
:shakefist: Damn you and your false information!! :fuming:

I thought from the way it started out that it might be the episode; even though is wasn't, however, it laid great groundwork. Now I know why she was so adamant about Jack not attacking the basis of the gay marriage!
And she was so cool about it, too. The suprise will still be a surprise when it DOES replay.

Exactly! I was thinking that too once I moved past the shame of having taunted Roland. It lays excellent groundwork and the second half was particularly good when usually (imo) the Law bits are worse than the Order that precedes them.
