Afghanistan sucks

Well, not so much now that I have wireless access and plumbing and an actual building as oppossed to tents and port-a-shitters. But it still sucks.

Not much going on. I'm in Khowst now, as opposed to Ghazni. Specifically, I'm based in Bak District Center. Nothing much happens here, which is good. Could be getting shot at.

It's really nice here since I have the ultimate luxury in Afghanistan--females on the base. Trust me, after 12 months, it's awesome just having a female to talk to.

But that's all I got for youse now. I'll be sort of around.

Household 6 gave me a three-metre rule as regards females.. I could not get any closer. She denies this, though.

Depending on the maturity levels of the troops, it could be a blessing or a curse. We've caught sentries in towers at it, and I had to give one of my troops a couple of days off mission due to his being heartbroken over a medic. (Interestingly, the problem was that he didn't want to go as far as the medic did who then broke up over it but the result was the same)

Anyway, glad to hear you've got the basic trappings of civilisation again. Just keep your head down, mortars have this annoying habit of catching you by surprise.

Fuck. I was home for "mid-tour" leave in April.

I wish my internet was better though. Takes a while to load this forum, and I am impatient. I can say one good thing about IIDB--never loaded slow for me, ever ever ever. I know that the majority of it is on my end (I am in Afghanistan), but it still be annoying.

I'm going to try to be here more often, starting in a few weeks (I will be very busy before then), but we'll see how that pans out.
