Arggh. My long time friend has asked me to be her attendant at her second wedding (first was on a cruise ship so no wedding party) in January. She has very nicely allowed me to wear black and choose my own dress, since shopping in my area is limited. It is a winter theme, black, silver, and Tiffany Blue or something.

ANYWAY, why are almost all formal dresses strapless or spaghetti straps? I can't wear them because I have abnormally narrow shoulders...I need sleeves! And, if I find one with sleeves it is so plunging front or back a bra can't be worn. I have to wear a bra!

I know, for a fact, that the average woman is not a size 4 with toned arms and gravity defying breasts, why don't they make clothes for real people?

How do you feel about ordering online? I love Coldwater Creek (http://www.coldwatercreek.com/Products/prodList.aspx?provider=productsearch&cmd=czNewPage&path=All+Products%2F%2F%2F%2FApparel%2F%2F%2F%2FDresses%2F%2F%2F%2FUserSearch%3DDept.Channel+ID%3D1&ProductsPerPage=74) :vibes:

For instance, they have this dress (http://image.coldwatercreek.com/Products/524x655/H43419_030_S.JPG) for 99bucks

What about a wrap in one of the coordinating colors? If the wrap's fabric is decently substantial and stiff, it can make pretty good sleeves. I stuck my bridesmaids in strapless gowns to match my own, but they had wraps.

We have a brick'n'morter one of those in town that just opened up. C'mon up here and shop! :)

I found a silk beaded one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=350004522261&ssPageName=STRK:MEBI:IT&ih=022) on eBay so cheap I am buying it whether for the wedding or just as a formal

I have bought from Cold Water Creek before, thanks for the reminder

The Coldwater Creek in the mall here would make you look like a gradeschool teacher.

You know what else is stupid? Pullovers of any sort with elastic bands along the waist. About 5 minutes ago I cut open the inside bottom hem of an otherwise comfy winter flannel and just tore the elastic out. Ripped it right out of there.

Now it isn't trying to cut my legs off from my torso while I am sitting here. It's much nicer now.
