Seven minutes and counting here. There's a old story that animals can talk at midnight on Christmas Eve, so we're waiting up to see what the kittehs have to say.
Happy Xmas everyone!:christmas:

I just got back from a fabulous little soiree at RevDahlia's house, which is all the Christmassing I'll be doing this year. Great food, great music (her hubby and at least one friend are talented musicians) and probably the most real fun (read: unenhanced by mind/mood altering substances) I've ever had at a party.

Merry Christmas from the outer limits of time!
45 minutes until Christmas, 7 hours before the pitter-patter of little feet, which is more adequately described as stomping and shrieking.

Much fun has been had by all today. Count got some smelly stuff (incense, candles and the like) and chocolate. Venus, our eldest got a DVD player to match her birthday TV (haven't seen her all day. Should have done it years ago :D), Jake got magnetic thingys and a dinosaur and stuff, Skye-Ann got some cool art supplies, Luke got the Decepticon Frenzy (the CD player from the movie. Good choice me. He hasn't put it down all day) and Shine got reptiles and farm animals. I got a new wallet stuffed full of scratchies ($19 won thank you very much!) but the best present came from all the kids to the two of us.
They had me take a picture of them holding a painted sign saying "We love you Mummy and Alain/Daddy", then Venus framed it and presented it to us in a basket with lollies, soaps and knick-knacks. Those kids rock. It was really touching.

I'm working today, making double-time plus 8 hours of holiday pay, the same as yesterday. In fact, I get paid the equivalent of 66 hours of pay just for working these two company holidays.
"Ho-ho-ho!" I said as I greeted the two guys on night shifts, who were soon headed for home.
Ho! Ho! Ho! (to the tune of We Three Kings)
We three ho's of multiple loans
Working shifts so others stay home
Field compression, strive to maintain
Pumping gas out of the loam
Start to wonder, start to whine
Starting yesterday double time
We are making, plus holiday
Pay makes it the bottom line

Merry x-mas morning from :springfieldma:! :santa:
I woke up early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, so I'm up for the duration. Weird as it is, I think that I couldn't sleep due to the excitement of it being x-mas day. :stwitch:
I say this because as far as gifts go, all that's being exchanged this morning are cards between my husband and I and the only presents that will be exchanged today at his brother's house will be the presents we got his nephew and his parents. The rest of us don't exchange gifts anymore. (and, really, with the new Honda :cycleluv: in the garage, I really can't ask for more.)
I also say this because as far as x-massy spirit goes, this is not only the first x-mas in awhile that I've been in an up mood about it, but the first x-mas in awhile that I haven't been in a downright depressed mood about it due to family matters, or should I say, ex-family matters. :cheer:
So, I don't know why, but I woke up like a kid this morning on x-mas day and I'm going to stop analyzing it and run with it rather than ruin it. :unsanta:
I hope everyone has a great day, working or not. :ornament:

Grandson woke up to see that Santa had made his way to our home. He is still fluttering about trying to decide what to play with next, although he loves and has played mostly with the present Ding gave to him last night, which is spiderman related. While the girls go through their stockings and remind me that santa left price tags on items, I told them that santa is getting to old to remember to do such trivial stuff as to take tags of pressies in their stockings after all, they are a little old to be complaining about such things. Overall a simple, yet quite morning so far. Breakfast being prepared and almost ready for the table. Roxanne has been working on a musical piece on the piano for the last couple of days. It is coming along nicely. I fed a sugar cookie to the horses yesterday, they loved it and smiled at me as if to say they wanted more. It was funny and fun to see their reactions. I will be heading to work shortly to do some catch up that I was suppose to do yesterday, but never made it in to the office. Happy holiday to all!!

That's cool Shelli. Glad you've recaptured the Xmas spirit.
IW, I'm glad your Grandson enjoyed his Xmas. How is he settling in?
For us it is the morning after Xmas and we are all alive but bleary eyed. Coffee is my friend.

Just got home from the parents' house. Ate too much (turkey, roast beef, stuffing, rolls, cranberry sauce, that jello stuff with the fruit in it, wild rice with cranberries, and homemade cheesecake), got tons of useful stuff, and am ready for a nap under my new electric blanket. We got a bit of sleet, so I guess it's safe to say Atlanta got a white Christmas as that's the closest we've been in years!
