G'morning, y'all. :)
We have a giant, colourful balloon bobbing in the breeze over our house in the bright morning sun. What a gorgeous sight! And what a lovely thing to do on a day like today. :)
Just thought I'd share.

Balloons are cool. :)
When I was stationed in Germany I went to visit some friends of the family in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, and imagine my surprise to find the annual balloon festival underway in the town square! They had balloons of all different sizes, shapes and colors. I remember one shaped like a wine bottle and another like an elephant. :yup:

I love balloons. (Which is why I uploaded pretty much every one I could find, even the slightly nasty ones.) The Red Balloon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0385003439/qid=1105825496/sr=8-2/ref=pd_csp_2/102-8611658-6521763?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) was one of my favorite books as I kid. It never failed to make me cry.
What color is your balloon, luna?

I love Balloons, too, and we also have an annual Hot Air Balloon Festival - I think it's held in April, sometime; in the late autumn, anyway.
The balloon above us is red, orange, yellow, and black - not the prettiest balloon I've ever sen, but it doesn't seem to matter - it delights me anyway. :)
I'd take a photo for you, but I don't have a camera.

LOL. You cheeky devils. :giggle:
Man, it's hard to get a moment on my own computer around here. I have to sneak in while she races off to pee.
Anyway, balloons....
Here's a link to our festival - Balloons Over Waikato (http://www.balloonsoverwaikato.co.nz/). It starts on the 15th April this year, so all you Ballooning enthusiasts will have to start preparing for it now. And don't forget to register for the different events!
Check out the photo gallery. There are some wonderful Balloons entered in the games. :)

One of the memories that always springs so easily to mind for me is leaving Marshall, Texas on the second day of our family vacation to the Grand Canyon--there was a balloon festival there, and I can remember the balloons rising up in the very early morning light. Watching them for as long as I could. The first thing we saw that day on our longest leg of the trip--next stop Clovis, New Mexico!

What a wonderful memory! And one that I can asure you will never fade. :yup: :)
I was lucky enough to ride in a hot air balloon when I lived at Byron Bay. A young German couple were making their home in Byron, and starting a hot air balloon business. As a group of us were living and working in the beach hostel we were great advertsiing for them a la word of mouth, so as a treat (and good PR to get us talking about ballooning with tourists and locals) we were given a sunrise flight with champagne, bacon sammies, and cheese and fruit. We had a glorious morning hovering over the coast watching dolphins play, and then rising into air currents that took us across the country, with a jeep on the ground chasing us to Nimbin, where we finally landed on some farm to be collected. That is a memroy that will always be among my most precious. I'd love to do it again. :)
