That thread title is in very poor taste. The snap to which I am referring is that of my daughters humerus bone, right near her elbow, along with three others in her wrist.

My poor girl! She fell three meters from a flying fox. She's since had surgery to wire it all back together and is now sporting a rather impressive cast.

I'm cringing. It hurts just to look at it.

What a crappy way to learn about gravity.

Nothing humerus about it, really.
Sorry I can't resist the bad anatomy jokes.

Oh, poor thing. Is she in much pain?

I imagine she is in a fair amount of pain, although you wouldn't know it. She is such a cool kid, I have barely heard a peep out of her. We have been giving her pain killers regularly - we try to get in with the new lot before the last dose wears off to avoid as much pain as possible. She had a fairly rough night last night, I hope tonight will be better for her.
I like that girl. I think I might keep her :yup: She constantly amazes me. She is very quiet and sensitive but behind all that is the most excellent raw strength, courage and sense of self. She's a bit excellent and I am proud to be her mum. :yup:

:shudder: (at the injury), but

:aww: (at her attitude and your love for her).

* ceptimus had never heard the term 'flying fox' (except for those giant fruit-eating bat things) but googled it and found that it's one of these.

Cool! The fox, I mean, not the painful injury. That's totally not cool. :shudder:

Are y'all decorating her cast with signatures, bon mots, Sharpie sunsets and the like?

I posted the full story on my blog (http://thefunnyfatlady.blogspot.com/2008/01/i-am-mother.html) if any body feels like reading the hysterical rantings of a crazy lady.

Ouch! Poor girl. :(

That Flying Fox thing does look pretty fun, though.
