I was just accepted into a good paying stockhouse for my digital photos! :woohoo: They are sending me the paperwork. I have the potential to make from 200-500 dollars per photo. That is if my work is asked for by buyers. Hopefully my photos will stick out enough or that I provide photos that they need and want.

So are we going to be seeing a Plant Woman-started thread, "Who Wants Me To Be Their Sugar Momma?", soon? :giggle:

Congrads! I tried once with iStockphoto, but my photos weren't good enough -- true dat. The problem is that I didn't really know what I was doing, or I had photos that were under difficult circumstances. (such as the oncoming-semi photo I posted here a while back, or the defective sink, which was poor lighting).

Congrats!!

Even if you don't sell much it's a nice tick on a resume that people will take notice of, since most big stock houses are a pain in the ass to make it into.

What kind of work were you accepted for (if Plant and flower work be especially proud).

Congratulations indeed! I work closely with a professional photographer, and it's always neat to see my work in magazines and on TV, gives a nice rush. I hope that happens to you too.

Yes that is what I will be doing is plant and flower work and perhaps some garden scenes as well.

Yes I like it when my work appears in mags as well. One photo turned up in one magazine this month and an article with photos in another. The stockhouse will pay better for photos though.

Thanks everyone for the kudos. Now I just have to get organized and over to them. Then do the wait:twiddle: and see how they sell. It will be fun to get out there and shoot for stock too!

Congratulations on getting accepted into a stock house. I don't know the details but that sounds like a very important step in a photography career!

Double congrats! To get a stock house to accept plant/flower pictures they have to be at least twice as exceptional as a normal stock image.

Cap, for a freelance photographer it definitely is good, as another vehicle to sell our work. When I had my studio, I gave up doing freelance as I didn't have time to do stock, my sideline then was doing the art show circuit. I always thought stock would be great for work. We shall see if I do well at it or not. That is if my photos sell.

Ari, I didn't know that! That seems to be my lot in life choosing a field that is the hardest to get somewhere in. :giggles:

Thanks Kyuss, IW and Shake. Now I have to do some work to get my stuff to them. Too many image files, so little time to go through the selection process and guessing which ones will catch a buyer's eyes enough so they will purchase.

I have long been of the opinion that every artist needs a selection crew to tell them what's great & what's no so great.

Oh I missed your post fm. I agree, just like having a copy editor for writing because they put fresh eyes on your work.
