Remember the Rational Response Squad, who came around here a couple springtimes ago pimping their glorious War on Easter? I was reading an article over at truthdig about the upcoming SCOTUS consideration of Indiana's execrable voter ID law, happened to glance over at the right-hand page ad, and what did I see? THE RRS is advertising now, and they've ditched the goofy guy in the paramilitary getup and updated their image to something that might sell a little better:

Yes, boys and girls, the philosophical heavyweights over at the RRS have risen to heights of rationality formerly only attained by such luminaries as internet T-Shirt vendors. I'm sold. Hand me my gun and point me toward the Easter Bunny's fortified burrow. I still say they can have my Cadbury eggs when they pry them from my cold dead fingers, though.

The war on easter seems to start earlier every year. In MY day, we didn't start the war on easter until we'd eaten the dead from the war on christmas. Kids today sure have it easy.

I had that posted in my cubicle at work. All was swell until a random passer by looked in paused and the commented.

"You are one disturbed individual."

With a smile that hadn't been more genuine in a long time I thanked the man for his kind words.

And to keep it real for just a minute. They may be the Rational Response Squad but that doesn't mean they're smart.

Forgive me, no. What was their beef?

All sorts of meat-lovers tuned into the PETA "Stripping for the Animals" campaign. Didn't make us turn against meat, but it provided some brief entertainment.

Perhaps someone needs to contact the RRS and suggest a Stripping For Atheism event?
