Is it possible?

Hmm... I don't think it's possible without loading the full editor, which of course defeats the purpose of the quick reply. I'll look into it though.

I was thinking the same thing (as in "I'm lucky I've got a quick reply in the first place") but the quick edit window managed to have it and I got jealous on behalf of the quick reply.
It's no big deal, really, since the preview has never managed to keep me from requiring multiple edits after submitting anyway.

Oh well the quick edit preview is the same as the regular preview; it loads the editor. The only difference between that and the "go advanced" button on quick reply is that it goes straight into preview mode instead of making you click "preview post". I could probably change "go advanced" to "preview" though, and it would work like quick edit.

Did you mean "the quick reply preview" or the quick edit preview? I'm looking for a preview for the quick reply function. If so, then if I understand you correctly:
I'd still have the quick reply on the bottom of the regular thread view, without having to load another page. But if my reply ended up complicated enough to warrant a preview, then I'd click "quick reply preview" to load a new page which gives the regular preview and the full up editor with with to modify it, if necessary?
That would do exactly what I'd like, if that's possible.

Yep, that's exactly what I meant. I'll have a look at whether it's possible to do.

Okay if I had looked a little more closely at the time I would've noticed that what you have requested is actually the default behavior. I've changed the name of the button, though, so you can tell that when you click it you're going to the preview screen. :)

Doh! You'd think I would have at least tried the button before asking. Just curious, what was the button named before? Was it something really scary and threatening to cause me to shun it, even for a quick look-see?
Thanks! It works great. :D

It was called "Go Advanced". :D

Um. Actually, now that I think about it, it doesn't make sense to name it "Preview Changes", because unlike Quick Edit, you're not actually changing anything. I'm gonna change it to "Preview Post" to match the normal preview button.

No wonder I didn't even try it... :search:
Who knows what sorts of horrors would burst forth from such a bold selection?! Surely I would have slid down the slimey ooze on the steep slope of advancedness, too inexperienced to navigate and likely to risk all: my weak attempt at a quick post lost forever in the complex geometries of expert postmanship. What next would I lose, my sanity?!
:abducted:
The new name is more friendly and more intuitively appropriate.

Yeah, well, I'm the wrong one to ask. I'm surprised you can get anything done what with that dang pedestal I make you stand on.
